Your origin story matters [podcast]

Many, many articles have been written about the importance of why your origin story matters. Your audience will relate to you so much more if they can, see, hear, understand and appreciate:

  • Who you truly are

  • What you do (and how you specifically do it)

  • Why that is so important to you, that you will keep doing it

Your origin story matters

I was recently a guest on the incredible 'Wise Why' podcast, hosted by Kirsty Jane van den Bulk and, because Kirsty is such a warm, generous and welcoming host, I found myself spilling my origin story all over the show. I wasn't expecting to wax lyrical about my amazing wife and parents (as well as my brave and brilliant daughters) - it just kind of happened.

Kirsty van den Bulk and Mark Franklin - a screen shot taken from their 'Wise Why' podcast episode (no. 89). Both are smiling and Mark is animated with his hands in shot.

Some of the comments I have received since have reminded me just how important it is to be you, all of the time and so I invite you to think about those three points below (and when/where might you get the opportunity to share your take on each):

  • What makes you truly you?

  • You're no doubt sharing something that matters (to you) - what is it and...

  • ...why does it matter to you (and to those you wish to help)?

I hope the podcast is interesting and gives you takeaways "Four proven strategies..." (spoiler alert, it does and they do) but even if you don't watch it - find a platform (or create your own) to share your story so far.

Let people see what makes you shine.

Be you.

Be wonderfully, consistently you!
